Parksite acquires Lavelle Company

Bulkley Capital served as exclusive buyside advisor to Parksite, Inc. (Batavia, Illinois) in the acquisition of Lavelle Company (Fargo, North Dakota), a wholesaler of lumber, millwork, cabinets and other products, servicing retail lumber yards throughout North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa since 1939.

A 100% employee-owned company, Parksite is a major wholesale distributor of branded and specialty building products. The company has 9 locations throughout the eastern half of the United States and over 390 employee-owners. The acquisition of Lavelle Company serves to expand both Parksite’s geographic footprint and product portfolio and also introduces a number of value-added processes, such as wood pressure treatment, door assembly and painting/pre-finishing.

This transaction was the result of a proactive, targeted acquisition strategy developed with Bulkley Capital, and was sourced directly rather than through a competitive auction process. During the course of our engagement we helped establish specific criteria for acquisitions and represented the company in initiating contact and managing communications with multiple viable prospective targets throughout the country.
