Grocery Supply Company acquires Brenham Wholesale

Bulkley Capital served as exclusive financial advisor to GSC Enterprises, Inc. (Grocery Supply Company) (Sulphur Springs, Texas), a full-line wholesale distributor to the convenience store market, in the acquisition of Brenham Wholesale Grocery Co., Inc. (Brenham, Texas).

Founded in 1947 and owned and operated by the second and third generations of the McKenzie family, Grocery Supply Company serves single store convenience operators and large regional chains throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas and Missouri. The company carries more than 10,000 items in inventory across an extensive dry, refrigerated and frozen product line. Bulkley Capital was engaged by GSC to assist in identifying complementary businesses as part of the company’s plan to broaden its geographic footprint.

GSC acquired selected assets of Brenham Wholesale, a 115-year old distributor to grocery and convenience stores, operating from a 250,000 square foot facility in Brenham, Texas. The transaction provides GSC with a second distribution point in Texas to serve its growing customer base with greater resource and efficiency. With similar company cultures and values, the addition of Brenham Wholesale also represents meaningful growth and investment in GSC’s team of employees.
